They are of good character and have a number of references to say so. They have no previous offences. They co-operated with the police fully attending a planned arrest and interview. Have been on unconditional bail and have attended each hearing promptly. They have shown remorse and are looking to pay the money back which is under �20,000. They buckled under financial pressure and did not use the money to buy extravagence but rather paid off debt.They have had a pre sentencing report made by the probation service and it is extremely positive suggesting the sentence be served within the community. They have been volunteering while out of work and have a reference to say that they have provided a great service to the charity and would be offered first refusal at a vacancy if one arose.
