Was I wrong for how I replied to this lady?

A weird reply and good thing she did know you were being sarcastic. But really, she did ask for it. As soon as I read that an elderly lady asked what you needed the knives for, I immediately thought that she was wondering if you were going to do something horrible with them and that she should mind her own business.
