Has my employer reported my accident to the health and safety executive?

a year ago my finger was crushed in a machine at work,my finger was badly crushed and had to be sewn back together.which resulted in me losing part of my finger tip.i was off work for eight weeks and was told by my employer that they had informed hse,but after one year i have not heard from them and would have expected them to at least investigate this accident? i am beginning to think that they have not reported this accident.if anyone else has had a similar injury please can you tell me how the hse handled your case and how long it took them to start investigations.thanks,Norman.
